Norris McLaughlin Attorneys to Speak at NBI Advanced Family Law Seminar

Lauren L. Sorrentino and Catherine A. Curcio, Members of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will be presenters at the Advanced Family Law Seminar hosted by the National Business Institute on Monday, December 10, 8:30 a.m. – 4:40 p.m. at the Best Western in the Lehigh Valley.

Curcio will speak on ethics, covering the client/lawyer relationship, conflicts of interest, communication issues with clients and opposing parties and counsel, and other issues. Sorrentino will address domestic violence, child abuse, and associated legal and jurisdictional issues and procedures.

Sorrentino, Chair of the firm’s Pennsylvania Family Law Practice, focuses her practice on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, prenuptial and property settlement agreements, child support, child custody, and protection from abuse. She has been named one of the “10 Best Attorneys” for two years in a row by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Family Law section. Sorrentino is actively involved in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Family Law Section and is a former Council Member of the Section. She is a former member of the Section’s Rules Committee and Programming Committee and is actively involved in the Family Law Committees of the Bar Association of Lehigh County and the Northampton County Bar Association. She previously served on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Family Law Section and co-chaired the Section’s Domestic Violence Committee. A top Lehigh Valley Lawyer, Sorrentino has published articles on a variety of family law topics and has served as a panelist at family law educational programs. She is a member of the Board of Associates of Lehigh Valley Hospital. Prior to entering private practice, Sorrentino was an Independence Foundation Fellow and staff attorney at the Women’s Law Project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in 1998 from Columbia University and her J.D. in 202 from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley.

Curcio focuses her practice on family law and real estate and land use. Because of her dual practice areas, she is uniquely positioned to serve clients and address client needs that transcend a single area of the law. Outside of her practice, Curcio is Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Third Street Alliance for Women and Children, where she also serves on the Executive committee and the Development committee.  She is a member of the Lafayette College Alumni Association, the Young Lawyers Division of the Northampton County Bar Association and sits as the Solicitor to the Lower Macungie Township Planning Commission. Curcio received her B.A., dean’s lists, in 2003 from Lafayette College and her J.D. in 2006 from New York Law School.
